Miss You Man
Cat Stevens – Oh Very Young

Oh, very young, what will you leave us this time?
You’re only dancing on this earth for a short while
And though your dreams may toss and turn you now
They will vanish away like your daddy’s best jeans
Denim blue fading up to the sky
And though you want him to last forever
You know he never will
You know he never will
And the patches make the goodbye harder still
Oh, very young, what will you leave us this time?
There’ll never be a better chance to change your mind
And if you want this world to see better days
Will you carry the words of love with you?
Will you ride the great white bird into heaven?
And though you want to last forever
You know you never will
You know you never will
And the goodbye makes the journey harder still
Will you carry the words of love with you?
Will you ride, will you ride, will you ride?
Ahhh
Oh, very young, what will you leave us this time?
You’re only dancing on this earth for a short while
Oh, very young, what will you leave us this time?

Memories
- I remember meeting you through that weird, oafish cause I didn’t know anyone when I moved here. I think you and me both kind of felt like “why am I hanging out with this kid.” I realized we rode the same bus and you invited me to that end of the year party at your house with like 30-40 people. We didn’t really hangout yet, but of all the people I had met you seemed to most genuine.
- Super awkward double dates where I was roped into being your wingman. lol
- Running from the cops for breaking curfew and hiding out in the woods all night.
- Friday nights renting movies at the video store and hitting up Dairy Queen.
- Learning Karate with you, and all the cool people we met there.
- Chaperoning that campout where you ate everyone’s MRE freeze-dried fruit and then watching you run off from a hike when you thought you were gonna shit your pants. lol
- Cracking me up at the pool when you did crazy impressions.
- Having people who rode our bus think we were brothers because we were on the exact same wavelength.
- You would have potentially been one of the best Martial Artists for your age.
- Taking our girlfriends to go see the fireworks at the golf course.
- Crazy adventures wandering around downtown.
- Cruising around in my car listening to CDs on the discman and you managing the huge CD case.
- Picking up girls as we were driving down the road and you were hanging out the window while we talked to them.
- Being mind blown by that 3D pipes screensaver on your computer.
- Hanging out downstairs at your house watching VHS tapes on weekends.
- Car-pooling to Karate and the athletic club together.
- Traveling to New York with you and watching you take pictures of everything with your Canon Rebel.
- Your older sister thinking we were both idiots, and looking back on it she was probably right.
- Letting you borrow my Space Hog CD and you kept it so long I figured I’d never get it back. Thanks for returning it though. You liked it so much, I was gonna let you keep it.
- You smuggling a freezer bag worth of venison jerky into Rumble in the Bronx and hearing people multiple rows away complain about “the smell” in the theater. lol
- Going on that double date to Romeo + Juliet where that girl had to have a date for her friend. Super awkward, but really made me remember that movie at the weird, little tucked away theater.
- Your scruffy, little dog. I loved that little bastard.
- Us climbing out my bedroom window onto the roof of the garage and looking at the stars.
- Getting dropped by some jock for talking shit to him when he was dogging you for being in Gymnastics. I never told you that was how I got my concussion. I don’t regret it. I always told people to get fucked when they talked about you behind your back. I just didn’t want you to know that people did that.
