My Favorite Anime

<< UNDER CONSTRUCTION >>
When I was a kid and through my teenage years I used to mainly watch anime for the story. As I’ve gotten older I tend to watch more for the art & aesthetics now-a-days, however a good story is still a huge plus! I typically watch most anime in Japanese with English Subs, unless the Dub is done really well, which seems to be the case with some Studio Chizu and Studio Ghibli films (imo).
MODERN ANIME
My modern anime favorites are ones I’ve chosen that I felt have amazing artwork, but not all of these have compelling stories. I will try to leave notes for the anime that I feel has a really solid art style but feels lacking in story. Even so, if you enjoy the aesthetic or are simply a fan of great animation, even those titles may be worth watching once.

CLASSIC ANIME
The anime I watched in the 80’s and 90’s was mainly about the stories to me. Prior to the mid-90’s I didn’t even have a concept of “anime”, I just really liked well animated cartoons with interesting stories. Robotech and Starzinger are early ones on this list that I watched when I was fairly young (about 8-12) in the late 80’s.

Despite the fact that this anime has been tarnished by it’s creator, it still holds a place in my heart because of the time and place I was at in my life when I first watched it. The anime itself is still the blood, sweat and tears of hundreds of individuals and I can’t just throw that away despite the person who created the character.
